| A new play area has opened in Gloucester, paid for through grants given to help communities affected by last year's flooding.
The Paygrove Lane play area in the Longlevens area of the city was officially opened by the Mayor of Gloucester, Councillor Norman Ravenhill on 10 August.
New play equipment at the play area was funded by a £36,000 grant from the Rotary Club, and a further £40,000 from Severn Trent Water. The play area is the first phase of plans which will see facilities for older children added at a later date.
Gloucester City Council's leader, Paul James, said: "This play area was in a very poor condition and, until these grants were awarded, we had no funding identified to carry out the work." |
