Work to start on next phase of Pennine trail

Lancashire County Council (LCC) has announced that work is due to start on extending a mountain bike trail which links Cragg and Facit Quarries with Lee Quarry, Bacup.

The project forms the latest stage of the Pennine Lancashire Adrenaline Gateway and is being delivered by LCC in partnership with Rossendale Borough Council.

Work will include connecting the new mountain bike trails at Cragg and Facit Quarries with Lee Quarry Mountain Bike Centre, as well as linking with the Pennine Bridleway and creating a route to Gisburn.

Lancashire County Developments managing director Steve Dean said: "The aim of this work is to improve the landscape and create a new route connecting Lee Quarry and the Adrenaline Gateway to the wider Pennine area."
