Action PR have created a new studio design for Everyone Active's Fortis Powered by Speedflex fitness brand that is focussed on inclusivity and integrates the workout technology into the space.

Speedflex is a type of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) delivered using resistance exercise machines in small-group, trainer-led classes.

Individuals of different training abilities can be in the same classes because Speedflex machines automatically adjust their resistance levels to the ability of the user – meaning the training concept is inherently inclusive.

Trainees' heart-rates are monitored during sessions and data is collected from the machines they are using.

With these factors in mind, Action PR sought to create a space for broad roll-out that would appeal to people across the demographic range, that would contribute to a motivational atmosphere and that would relay individuals' performance figures to them.

A compact studio provides enough space for small group classes without spreading individuals too far apart to the detriment of the class atmosphere.

The exercise machines and stations are laid out around the perimeter of the room for easy circuit use during classes.

Data collected is relayed to a large video-wall at one end of the studio so that individuals can see information about their workouts, like heart-rate, effort and calories burnt.

This feature provides a focus for both the trainer and the trainees, as individuals are pushed to achieve their best and can encourage others to do the same.

"The goal was to create a contemporary studio design but without going down the usual route of the dark-disco feel, popular with many boutique gyms," said Cheryl Hersey, Director at Action PR. "We needed to create a space which would appeal to everyone. We decided that a gold colour and lighting scheme, would allow us to create a cutting edge design whilst retaining a warm and welcoming feel."
